PhD @ Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences

buchman
The group of Dr. Kathi Zarnack is looking to recruit two PhD students (E13 TV-G-U, 65%) in the field of computational RNA biology. The project focuses on the regulation of alternative splicing from a genomic perspective, with a particular emphasis on the interplay of regulatory RNA-binding proteins and their target RNA molecules. To achieve this, we employ data from a range of different genome-wide experiments, such as iCLIP, RNA-seq and ribosome profiling. In close collaboration with several experimental labs in Germany and UK, the PhD students will have access to high-quality first-hand datasets to pursue the research question. For more information on our work, please visit our webpage.(http://www.bmls.de/)
The positions are initially limited for 1 year.
  • Our group is situated at the Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (BMLS; http://www.bmls.de/) embedded in the excellent research environment at the Riedberg campus of the Goethe University Frankfurt.
  • We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a degree (diploma/MSc) in Bioinformatics or related areas and a good understanding of molecular biology. To apply, please send your application including your Curriculum Vitae, names of two referees and a motivation letter in a single PDF file to [email protected] until 21.11.2014.
