The Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, under the framework of the research project entitled “iMODE-CKD - Clinical and system –omics for the identification of the molecular determinants of established Chronic Kidney Disease”, which is coordinated by Principal Investigator Dr Antonia Vlahou and funded from the European Commission, is announcing a call for interest for the following position.

Description of Position

1. Specialty: Bioinformatics

Work field:

  1. Extract and collection data- Data mining
  2. Statistical analysis of existing data
  3. Setting up a server

Deliverables :

  1. Extract and analyze publicly available and proprietary datasets and key publications relevant to CKD progression
  2. Generate a CKD progression relevant database.
  3. Perform initial statistical analysis of existing data for the identification of CKD progression associated clusters.

Employment period: 12 months

Minimum Requirements:

  1. BSc in Biology or Computer Science
  2. MSc in Bioinformatics or Systems Biology
  3. Excellent Knowledge of English language
  4. Experience in fields related to Molecular Biology, proteomics and mass spectrometry

B. Procedure and selection criteria

  • The candidates will be evaluated according to the following evaluation procedure and the top 3 candidates will be invited for an interview.

Important:

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Greece for more than 1 year in the past 3 years; Short stays such as holidays and/or compulsory national service are not taken into account
  2. Researchers must have a degree that in their country gives access to a PhD
  3. Not having registered in a PhD program.
