The Workshop on Algorithms in Bioinformatics seeks original contributions (including significant work-in-progress) or state-of-the-art surveys in all aspects of algorithms in bioinformatics, computational biology and systems biology. call for paper, pdf version

Paper Submission

Submissions must be formatted in LaTeX using the Springer LNCS style and must not exceed 12 pages including references. Each paper must contain a succinct statement of the issues and of their motivation, a summary of the main results, and a brief explanation of their significance, all accessible to non-specialist readers. All submissions must be made online, through the EasyChair submission system, at the following address: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wabi2013 You need to register on that web site before submitting. A standard PDF file must be received by midnight on May 17, 2013 (time zone of your choice) in order for your submission to be considered. Re-submission of already submitted papers will be possible until midnight May 19, 2013 (time zone of your choice). Simultaneous submission to another conference with published proceedings is not permitted, but simultaneous submission to a journal is allowed, provided that the authors notify the program chairs; if published in a journal, such a contribution will be published as a short abstract in the WABI proceedings.

Proceedings

Proceedings will be published in the Springer series Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics; papers will be allotted 12 pages. Previous proceedings of WABI appeared in LNCS/LNBI volumes 2149 (Aarhus 2001), 2452 (Rome 2002), 2812 (Budapest 2003), 3240 (Bergen 2004), 3692 (Mallorca 2005), 4175 (Zurich, 2006), 4645 (Philadelphia 2007), 5251 (Karlsruhe 2008), 5724 (Philadelphia 2009), 6293 (Liverpool 2010), 6833 (Saarbrücken 2011) and 7534 (Ljubljana 2012). Additionally, fully revised preprint copies of all manuscripts will be archived in the arxiv.org q-bio section, from which they can be freely accessed and indexed by major search engines.

Thematic Series in Algorithms for Molecular Biology (AMB)

Selected papers from WABI will be invited for an extended publication in a thematic series in Algorithms for Molecular Biology (AMB). A limited number of waivers for the article processing charge will be available upon application.

Poster Session

Participants who wish to present a poster describing their work should submit an abstract no longer than 1500 words, not including bibliographic references. The poster abstract is limited to 1 A4 page in 12 point font, including all references and figures. Instructions for poster abstract submission will appear here at a later time. The poster abstract submission deadline will be August 15th, 2013. At least one author of each accepted poster is required to register for and attend the workshop.
