Your challenge:

Lend your experience and knowledge to help expand our clinical bioinformatics team in order to help improve healthcare solutions for patients and medical staff.  
 
Your responsibilities:
 
The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team of Computer Scientists, Bioinformaticists, and Clinical Scientists. Key areas of responsibility include: develop novel software technologies that leverage next generation sequencing (NGS) for clinical applications in the area of oncology. You will be part of a team developing novel algorithms and software frameworks that preserve privacy and security for a hospital-oriented solution. The successful candidate will work with other Philips divisions to drive productization of these ideas and interact with outside experts in the field.

We are looking for:

Candidates with expertise/knowledge/experience in the following areas:
 
  • Computational Biology, Computer Science, Genetics and Signal Processing
  • Proven experience and knowledge in DNASeq / RNASeq analysis.
 
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desired:
 
  • Cloud computing, large scale software integration
  • Mixed–omics analysis using whole transcriptome, SNP, copy number and epigenetic data
 
We require the following credentials for this position:
  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or an MSc and at least 3 years of research experience
  • Research and software development experience including NGS data analysis, population genomic variation
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal English
